GivingTuesday: The Gift of Giving

#GivingTuesday has been our favorite holiday at The LMC Groups since our early days. Each year our employees raise funds and contribute their own with a full match from the company, selecting a wonderful and worthy recipient. We are incredibly proud that we’ve had 100% employee participation in our GivingTuesday efforts since day one, and it’s one of the many reasons our team is such a rich hybrid of colleagues, friends, and family.

Live simply so that others may simply live.

This quote is most often attributed to Mahatma Gandhi, but others, including Mother Theresa, have been credited for the statement as well. The concept predates our most recent references.

As a #B2B services provider, we typically spend more time helping our clients earn and save more money than we do convincing them to give it away, but it’s important to conduct your business – as your life – with balance. Yes, we need to make an income to survive and thrive, but that doesn’t mean we can’t help others in the process. One of the greatest gifts in life is the ability to help others.

GivingTuesday is celebrating its 10th anniversary on November 29, 2022. On the heels of Thanksgiving, heading into #BlackFriday, #SmallBusinessSaturday, and #CyberMonday, GivingTuesday was born out of the desire to “reimagine a world built upon humanity and generosity.” You can read more about GivingTuesday on their blog.

Whether the holidays are religious, familial, or seasonal in your celebration, there is a core theme surrounding generosity of spirit and a shared humanity thread among each perspective. GivingTuesday likely makes more sense than many of our other celebratory days sprinkled among the holiday season, and we clearly like to participate. GivingTuesday grows every year, and as of 2021, it generated more than $2.7 billion in donations from over 35 million individuals. Talk about the holiday spirit!

Giving matters.

We are all able to do with a little bit less so that we can help others to have a little bit more.

If your company has a thriving #GivingTuesday initiative, we’d love to celebrate you and share the news. Please email us at giving@lmc.group or message us online. If you want help creating your own GivingTuesday program, we’d love to help with that as well. And in the spirit of giving, we will HAPPILY provide our services for this work at no cost to you, ensuring your efforts and dollars reach those in need most.

Happy Holidays, friends!
